Chrome-plating is one of the most popular treatments used by companies producing O-Rings, gaskets and technical rubber articles. It is a micro-perforated galvanic treatment: the mould is coated with a chrom layer which gives the name of hard chrome-plating.

We were the first mould makers, in the rubber valley, installing chrome-plating directly into the company and offering it as an additional service to our customers.

The chrome plating offers important advantages and guarantees excellent aesthetic and functional feature that help in the moulding phase and give the mold these charachteristics:

A polished or matt surface, depending on the customer’s needs and on the type of compound used;
High resistance to abrasion, corrosion and oxidation;
A simplified piece extraction;
An easy cleaning and maintenance, the mould gets less dirty and keeps intact.

The chrome-plating, in short, extends the life of the mould up to 3 times as much.

We at O.C.S. do use only the highest quality products for our chrome-plating and therefore we obtain a greater adhesion to the steels and a high hardness of the value of 1.100 Vickers .  

Below you can read a positive feedback from one of our clients in the Turin area, after having chromed his sleeve mould.

BEFORE:

The mould had to be removed from the injection machine in order to be cleaned every 2 days ; 15% of rubber waste.

 AFTER:

Now the customer removes the mould from the press every 2 weeks for cleaning; the percentage gap has dropped to 2%.
